Fishing Tippy Dam on the Manistee
Tippy dam is located in Manistee County, in Northwestern Michigan, on the Manistee River. Fishing Tippy dam during the fall steelhead and salmon runs will be an experience you never forgot. The fish are huge and plentiful and the scenery is breath-taking. I have fished in many different areas of the united states and Canada many and fishing Tippy has given me some of my most memorable experiences. Me and my friends like to arrive at tippy at night and fish straight though to the following afternoon.
Tippy is well known for its migratory runs of Steelhead and Salmon during the fall. There is also a great Steelhead run in the spring. The fish leave Great Lake Michigan to spawn in the Manistee river mission. Besides steelhead and salmon you will also find the area around Tippy also provides anglers with great Trout and Smallmouth Bass fishing.
